Our construction update for the week of 2/16/2024 is below:
An overall site plan can be found on the last page of the update. This will help readers gain a better understanding of where on-site work is being performed.
During the week of February 12th, the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC subcontractors continued installing piping, conduit, hangers, and ductwork in Area’s C and B. Crews completed installing the temporary tarps in Area A. Installation of treads and risers at Stair #3 continues while stringers for Stair #4 were installed from the 4th floor to the roof in Area C. Framing and sheathing of the exterior wall continued at the 4th and 3rd floors in Area’s C & B. Crews continued framing interior walls for the 6th grade classrooms on the 2nd floor in Area C. The concrete subcontractor poured 230 cy of concrete on Friday for the slab on grade in Area C, they also continued installing mesh & rebar for the slabs in Area A. Installation of the roofing system continues in Area C. The mason completed building the CMU block shaft for Elevator #2 in Area C and began on the shaft for Elevator #1 in Area B. The site contractor continued to grade and compact subgrade for the ground floor slab in Area B.
Looking ahead to the week of February 19th, the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC subcontractors will continue installing piping, conduit, hangers, and ductwork in Area’s C and B. Crews will continue installing Stair #3 and Stair #4 in Area C. Framing and sheathing of the exterior wall will continue at the 4th and 3rd floors in Area’s C & B, along with framing of the interior walls on the 2nd floor in Area’s C and B. The concrete subcontractor will continue installing mesh & rebar for the slabs in Area A, along with preparing the slab on grade in Area B for concrete at the end of February. Roofing installation will continue. Building the masonry elevator shaft will continue. The site contractor will continue excavating and backfilling trenches to support the plumbers and electricians installing their respective piping and conduit.
Trucks, equipment, and deliveries will be a continuous presence at both the north and south gate entrances.
