Our construction update for the week of 3/22/2024 is below:
An overall site plan can be found on the last page of the update. This will help readers gain a better understanding of where on-site work is being performed.
During the week of March 18th, crews continue to focus on enclosing the building, installation of the roof system continued in Area B. Framing and sheathing of the exterior wall continued at Area’s C & B. Installation of metal windows began at the east elevation in Area C. Crews continued framing interior walls on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors in Areas C and B and began framing on the ground floor. The plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire protection subcontractors continued installing piping, conduit, hangers, and ductwork in Area’s C and B, while installing underground drainage piping and electrical conduit in Area A. Installation of landings and railings components continued at Stair #4 in Area C. The concrete subcontractor continued preparing the Auditorium and 2nd floor slab on deck in Area A for concrete. The CMU block shaft for Elevator #3 in Area A was completed. The site contractor continued excavating/backfilling in Area A for underground conduit & piping along with installation of site drainage structures and associated piping.
Looking ahead to the week of March 25th, crews from the mechanical trades will continue installing piping, conduit, hangers, and ductwork in Area C and Area B, layout, coring the slab, and installing hangers will begin in Area A. Installation of Stair #4 in Area C will continue. Framing and sheathing of the exterior wall will continue at Area C and Area B. Installation of AVB and metal windows will continue in Area C. Framing of the interior walls on the ground, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors in Area C and Area B, hanging drywall at the tops of walls continues on the upper floors in Area C. The concrete subcontractor will continue preparing areas for concrete, with plans to pour the infills at stairs, roof & elevator pads, the slab on deck on the 2nd floor in Area A, and finally the Auditorium Stadium Seating/Orchestra Pit. Roofing installation will continue. The site contractor will continue excavating and backfilling trenches to support the plumbers and electricians installing their respective piping and conduit while also continuing to install drainage structures and associated piping.
Trucks, equipment, and deliveries will be a continuous presence at both the north and south gate entrances.
