Construction Update 04-05-2024

Hello Everyone,

Our construction update for the week of 4/5/2024 is below:

An overall site plan can be found on the last page of the update. This will help readers gain a better understanding of where on-site work is being performed.

During the week of April 1st, crews continue to focus on enclosing the building by framing and sheathing of the exterior wall continued at Area’s C & B during the first half of the week, but rain Wednesday & Thursday caused these crews to focus on interior framing and return to the exterior wall on Friday. Installation of the roofing system also occurred around the weather this week. Installation of metal windows continued at the east and north elevations in Area C. Crews continued framing interior walls in different capacities on all floors in Areas C and Area B. The plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire protection subcontractors continued installing piping, conduit, hangers, and ductwork in Area’s C and B, while installing underground drainage piping in Area A. The concrete subcontractor poured 290 cy of concrete at the 2nd Floor Slab on Deck in Area A on Wednesday, leaving the Auditorium and the Slab on Grade in Area A as the remaining major pours. The site contractor continued backfilling in Area A for underground conduit & piping along with installation of site drainage structures and associated piping.

Looking ahead to the week of April 8th, crews from the mechanical trades will continue installing piping, conduit, hangers, and ductwork in Area C and Area B. Framing and sheathing of the exterior wall will continue at Area B, and in Area A. Installation of AVB and metal windows will continue in Area C. Framing of the interior walls on the ground, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors in Area C and Area B, hanging drywall at the tops of walls continues. The concrete subcontractor will continue preparing the Slab on Grade in Area A areas for concrete, with plans to pour concrete at the Auditorium stepped seating on Thursday. The site contractor will continue excavating and backfilling trenches to support the plumbers and electricians installing their respective piping and conduit while also continuing to install drainage structures and associated piping.

Trucks, equipment, and deliveries will be a continuous presence at both the north and south gate entrances.
