Our construction update for the week of 2/2/2024 is below:
An overall site plan can be found on the last page of the update. This will help readers gain a better understanding of where on-site work is being performed.
During the week of January 29th, the plumbers continued installing roof & floor drains, and associated piping in Areas C and B. The electrician continued installing underground conduit in Areas C and B, while also installing temporary lights and power services in Area A. The mechanical subcontractor continued installing hangers in Area’s C & B, while beginning to install ductwork in Area C. Crews continued installing rebar and mesh for the slab on decks in Area A. Installation of the staircases continues with crews installing Stair #1, next to the Auditorium in Area A. Fireproofing material was applied to the steel beams and columns in Area C and Area B. Framing of the exterior wall begun on the 4th floor in Area C. The roofing subcontractor mobilized to the site this week and began installing blocking and preparing to install the roofing membrane. The mason also arrived onsite this week and began building the shaft for elevator #2 in Area C. Crews continued installing the temporary building wrap at Area A. The site contractor continues to install drainage structures and piping throughout the site, along with excavating trenches and backfilling around underground utilities at the ground floor in Area C and Area B.
Looking ahead to the week of February 5th, the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC subcontractors will continue installing underground piping, conduit, deck hangers, and ductwork in Area’s C and B. Crews continue to wrap the building with temporary tarps to enclose the building from the elements through the winter months. Crews will begin installing Stair #3, outside the gymnasium in Area C. Framing and sheathing of the exterior wall will continue at the 4th and 3rd floors in Area’s C & B. The concrete subcontractor will continue installing mesh & rebar for the slabs in Area A. Roofing installation will continue. Building the masonry elevator shaft will continue. The site contractor will continue excavating and backfilling trenches to support the plumbers and electricians installing their respective piping and conduit.
Trucks, equipment, and deliveries will be a continuous presence at both the north and south gate entrances.
